While U.S. Vice President Joe Biden (pictured) appears to be leaning toward a presidential run, White House openly praised Biden and left open the possibility that President Barack Obama would make an endorsement in the Democratic presidential primary race, drawing keen attention to the background.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest said in a briefing on Monday that it is possible that Obama will endorse a candidate in the Democratic primary, according to the New York Times and other foreign press.

When asked by reporters about the likelihood for Biden to run for the presidential race, Josh Earnest said that President Obama believes that picking Biden as his VP was the "smartest decision he ever made in politics. He also reminded reporters of the fact that Biden ran for the presidential primary two times and said “he (Biden) has a better understanding of exactly what is required to mount a successful national presidential campaign."

In regards to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Earnest noted President Obama`s "appreciation, respect and admiration" for the job Clinton did as secretary of state.

Although Earnest praised both Clinton and Biden, it raises repercussions as the timing is just before Biden mounts a presidential bid.

Biden is now sending signals that his decision will be soon to be made by contacting donators for the presidential campaign. He also hired Kate Bedingfield as his communications director Monday, who served as a spokeswoman for former Sen. John Edwards’ 2008 presidential campaign.

While the ‘email scandal’ is hurting the strongest presidential candidate Clinton’s prospects, Biden’s run for the 2016 presidential election would erode supporters of the former secretary Hillary and it is expected rapidly change future directions of the Democratic presidential primary.
