She was all smiles, displaying three of her fingers while embracing the champion’s trophy. It was Park In-bee, 27, who won the title at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, the second major tournament of the U.S. LPGA tour for this season.

Park won the title at the championship, which ended at Westchester Country Club (par 73) in Harrison, New York in the U.S. on Monday, to become the third golfer to win the title at a major championship for three consecutive years in the LPGA tour after Patty Berg (U.S., Title Holders’ Championship) from 1937 to 1939, and Anika Sorenstam (Sweden, LPGA Championship) from 2003 to 2005. Having set the remarkable record of a decade, Park said, “My dream has become a reality. It is great honor that I have inscribed my name along with legends such as Berg and Sorenstam. I don’t know what to say,” in expressing overflowing excitement.

Park had bogey-free play in 56 consecutive holes from 17th Hole in the first round to the last hole in the fourth round in the latest championship. Kim Se-young, who gave two painful losses to Park in this season, failed to overcome Park’s solid performance on the day. Park had 19-under 273 overall, which ties the all-time record set at the championship, to secure a perfect win with a gap of five pars.

Park has acquired her sixth major championship in her career, and replaced Park Se-ri and Tseng Yani as the Asian golfer with most major championship titles (five titles or more) by garnering the sixth title in her career. She also rose to No. 1 spot in world rankings, beating over Korean New Zealander Lydia Go for the first time in four months.
