LG Electronics said on Tuesday that it will launch new members of the “LG G4,” which was released last month, in the global market starting this month. They are mid-range products with a similar design to the G4 (a 5.5-inch display) but with a slightly different size and functions. The “G4 Stylus” sports a 5.-inch display and the “G4c” has a 5-inch display. The “G4 Stylus” will be sold in North America, Europe, Latin America and CIS countries from the end of this month and the “G4c” in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa from next month.

Although the two models do not have leather backs, they have a cover with 3D patterns and rear-facing keys as in the plastic version of the G4. They have a 5-megapixel front camera and a large battery with 3,000mAh and 2,540mAh in capacity, which are generally used in high-end models. The G4 Stylus has a “stylus pen,” a rubber tip pen.

LG Electronics has released the mid-tier members of the G4 family even before it started to sell the G4 globally because it saw a surge in sales thanks to the popularity of the “G3 family,” such as the “G3 Beat,” “G3 Stylus,” “G Vista” and “G3 Screen.” The smartphone maker sold a record of 59.1 million units last year, a 24-percent increase from the previous year. “We will increase revenues in smartphones with the G4 family tailored to regional demands this year as well,” a source from LG Electronics said. “We’ll cover both the high-end and low-end markets.”
