MLB.COM reported on Wednesday that Zack Greinke and Ryu Hyun-jin will take the mount sequentially after Clayton Kershaw pitches in the game with Colorado on Monday next week. Accordingly, Ryu is expected to pitch in the game against San Diego on Wednesday after Greinke takes the mound against Chicago Cups on Tuesday.

Ryu pitched 34 balls Wednesday in the bullpen to check the ball power. After one more round of bullpen pitching, Dodgers’ manager Don Mattingly changed the plan for Ryu to live pitching and a spring training game. Just as Greinke, Ryu’s pitching schedule has been postponed since he couldn’t join the team training due to minor injury after beginning of the spring training. Greinke and Ryu are scheduled to throw batting practice on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Invited player Erik Bedard, a left-handed pitcher who signed a minor league contract, pitched Wednesday as the starting pitcher for two innings in the first pre-season game against the Chicago Whitesox. According to the rotation plan for five pitchers, Mattingly pre-announced that the fourth starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy and the fifth Brett Anderson would pitch on Sunday and Monday, respectively.
