Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he would consider working with arch-rival Google to extend Internet connectivity around the world.

During the keynote speech at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on Tuesday, he said he would be happy to partner with Google as he promised to spread the company`s free Internet application "Internet.org" worldwide. Internet.org is a non-profit service formed in 2013 to bring about free Internet access to parts of the world with the most need including developing countries and Africa.

When asked if Facebook’s Internet.org access initiative would consider working with Project Loon, Google’s initiative to provide Internet access via balloons traveling high in the stratosphere, Zuckerberg said, “Sure. When we launched the Internet.org in Zambia one of the apps we launched with was Google Search, which is an important product and piece of functionality people around the world want. I would love to do more with them.” However, he also made sure to underscore differences from Google`s Loon by saying Facebook`s services will have people connect each other and share, not just having them connected digitally.
