Lotte Giants appoint Lee Jong-un as new manager

Korean pro baseball team Lotte Giants have appointed Lee Jong-un as its new manager on Friday. According to Lotte, “Lee is inwardly strong and mild outside in style. We believe he is the best choice to tighten the currently disrupted team atmosphere.” He signed a three-year contract with a signing bonus of 187,000 dollars and an annual salary of 187,000 dollars.

Lee debuted in the pros at Lotte in 1989 and retired in 1998. Until last year, he served as the manager of his alma mater Gyeongnam High School.
