US World Series 2014: Royals beat Giants 7-2 in Game 2

The Kansas City Royals have evened the World Series, helped by its powerful bullpen. The Royals beat the San Francisco Giants 7-2 in Game 2 of the Major League Baseball`s World Series on Tuesday, after losing the first match.

The bottom of the sixth inning determined the winner and the loser of Game 2. The Royals concluded its victory, scoring five in the sixth when Billy Butler of snapped a 2-2 tie with an RBI single, followed by Salvador Perez`s two-run double and Omar Infante`s two-run homer.

Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost, who had failed in Game 1 to run the team`s mobility and bullpen normally, made a recovery in Game 2. He replaced Butler with a pinch runner in the sixth inning to enhance mobility and did not hesitate to replace starter Yordano Ventura with runners at first and second. Royals` relievers Kelvin Herrera and Greg Holland shut out three and a third innings together, allowing one hit and striking out six.

San Francisco Giants skipper Bruce Bochy used five pitchers in the bottom of the sixth inning but failed to maneuver through the Royals` offensive. Putting five pitchers on the mound is a World Series tie.

Game 3 will take place on Saturday at the AT&T Park in San Francisco. Historically, 70 percent of the winner of Game 3 with one victory and one loss for the first two matches grabbed the World Series title (38 wins and 16 losses).
