Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals to help Spain’s Real Madrid to claim the UEFA Super Cup.

Real defeated Spain’s Sevilla 2-0 in the final match held at the Cardiff City Stadium, Wales in Britain, on Wednesday. Ronaldo who played in the Brazil World Cup despite his knee injury finally shook his injury with the two goals after long recuperation. He put his team ahead after 30 minutes and then scored the second goal after 49 minutes.

The Super Cup is a match between the Champions League winner (Real) and the Europa League winner (Sevilla) to pick Europe’s best club. Real, which lost to Atletico Madrid in the Primera Liga last season, topped for the second time since 2002 and also showed a possibility to reclaim the top position in the 2014-2015 season starting on Aug. 24.

James Rodriguez, a Colombian striker who moved to Real at 80 million euro after the Brazil World Cup, made his debut in the Super Cup. Although he did not win an offensive point, he thundered home a left-foot shot after 23 minutes.
