| Samsung Electronics` two-door bottom-mounted freezer refrigerator ranked No. 1 at a quality review by German consumer protection agency Stiftung Warentest. The product had received top rankings by consumer reviews at seven countries including the U.K., France and the Netherlands. The latest is the eighth No. 1 ranking in Europe.
Stiftung Warentest is a foundation for product testing established in 1964 by the German government, and reviews the quality of some 2,000 products ranging from home appliances, cosmetics to food. The results are released every year. It is the first time that a foreign refrigerator ranked first since 2000.
The German consumer safety agency said that Samsung`s bottom-mounted freezer has the most outstanding performance among 15 same level global brands, boasting good functions such as the optimal temperature for fresh food reserves and frost prevention inside the storeroom. It also gave high scores in manipulation convenience and easy clean-up that took account consumer convenience.
The refrigerator is equipped with sliding shelves that enable easy search and take out of food placed deep inside. The product also adopted the digital inverter compressor to receive A+++, the highest energy consumption efficiency grade in Europe. Samsung Electronics released the refrigerator in Europe last year.
