Two young Korean golfers grab PGA and LPGA titles
APRIL 30, 2014 05:23
A Korean brother-sister couple won world golf competitions. Noh Seung-yul earned his first PGA TOUR win and the South Korean-born Kiwi Lydia Ko also captured a title at the LPGA tour.

Noh took the Zurich Classics on Sunday at TPC Louisiana course in Avondale final round as he ended the tournament at a 72-hole total of 19-under 269. The win at the Zurich Classic made Noh the fourth and the youngest Korean winner following Choi Kyung-ju, Yang Yong-eun and Bae Sang-moon.

The 22-year-old played wearing yellow and black ribbons on the back of his cap in tribute to the victims of the Sewol ferry sinking. In a post-tournament interview televised globally, Noh said he wanted to give people at home country positive energy with his performance.

Lydia Ko shot 12-under 276 total at Lake Merced Golf Club in Swinging Skirts Classics for her first win in LPGA since turning pro in October last year. World No.2 Ko had taken two wins as an amateur at the LPGA tour. The 17-year-old also expressed sorrow for the ferry wreck victims.
