Queen to meet Korean fans in August

British rock band Queen will hold its first ever concert in Korea in August.

Super Sonic, a summer music festival in Korea, said Wednesday, "Queen will perform at Super Sonic 2014 held at the Olympic Park in southern Seoul on August 14 and 15."

Queen is a global rock band with numerous hit songs and albums including "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We are the Champions," "We will Rock You," etc. After the death of vocalist Freddie Mercury and retirement of bass guitarist John Deacon, guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor have continued concerts, maintaining vocalist and bassist in temporary positions.

For the concert in Korea, American singer Adam Lambert, who is 2009 American Idol star, will perform as vocalist. British singer Paul Rogers became vocal from 2004 to 2009 after Mercury who was known for unique tone and singing ability. Lambert joined in 2011.

Kim Hyo-jin, senior manager at PMC Network that is hosting Super Sonic, said, "Most of Queen`s hit songs were performed on stage in recent overseas concerts, and Mercury appeared in videos that moved people`s hearts," adding, "We are currently tuning the date of concert and repertoire with Queen."
