China denounces UN report on N. Korean human rights `unreliable`
MARCH 19, 2014 02:01
China, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, dismissed the report on North Korean human rights record by the Commission of Inquiry 뱔nreliable, and signaled that it would use it right to veto if it is referred to the council.

In a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council held in Geneva, Switzerland on Monday, Chen Chuandong, a counselor at China`s mission in Geneva, said that the fact that the commission was not able to get cooperation from the country concerned and the report is based on information from external sources and interviews makes the report groundless. Some recommendation is impractical. It is believed that the recommendation he mentioned refers to putting North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on trial at the International Criminal Court.

The Wall Street Journal reported Monday that the U.N. Security Council seems not able to discuss the report on North Korean human rights issues because of the exercise of veto by China and the Ukraine issues.
