| A wild boar emerged at Gangneung Medical Center in Gangneung City, Gangwon Province at 7:26 a.m. on Friday. When the 70-kg wild boar penetrated the emergency room of the hospital, four medics at the scene instantly evacuated to a room annexed to the ER.
The wild boar moved to the funeral parlor on underground level one, and broke artificial flower bouquets on display there. As the animal approached an 8-year-old boy from the family of a chief mourner, a hospital employee identified by Kwon, 42, engaged in a physical fight with the wild animal. Choi suffered a broken finger, and had one of his legs bitten.
After leaving the funeral parlor, the wild boar hit the entrance door of the first floor. Fortunately, hospital employees successfully isolated it by closing fireproof shutters. Police who arrived at the scene fired a shot at the wild boar to kill the animal, bringing the 10 plus-minute fuss to an end.
