A construction contractor surnamed Yoon, who has been suspected of a sex bribery scandal involving prominent people and high-ranking officials, appeared before the police Thursday.

Yoon denied all the allegations by saying, “I don’t know former Vice Justice Minister Kim Hak-ui and I’ve never treated him with a sexual favor." He was summoned in about 50 days since the launch of the investigation. Upon entering in his sedan the National Police Agency, he said the above to the questions from reporters.

Yoon’s assertion, however, does not seem true because police have found that the former vice minister frequently made phone calls to Yoon. Kim is known to have used a cellphone registered under other person’s name.

Police investigation and the Dong-A Ilbo’s coverage indicate that Kim called Yoon many times via the cellphone received from his acquaintance. In particular, the phone number is the one to which Yoon’s nephew sent a photo from a video clip, according to a joint interview of the nephew by the Dong-A Ilbo and Channel A. In the interview, Yoon’s nephew said, “My uncle (Yoon) told me to send the photo to former Vice Minister Kim.”

Police also secured testimonies from about 10 women that they went to Yoon’s vacation home to provide entertainment including sex. One testimony says, “(I) saw myself that Yoon was videotaping a prominent man’s having sex.” People around Yoon, including the nephew and the manger of the vacation home, told the police that Yoon provided many prominent figures with sexual services.
