Commenting on Japanese media outlets’ reports that North Korea has stopped preparation for launch of the Musudan mid-range missile, South Korea’s presidential spokesman Yoon Chang-jung said on Monday, "Preparation to launch the Musudan missile in north of Wonsan is believed to continue.” Yoon made the remarks to reporters, saying, “We are immediately denying it because the reports are related to national security.”

“Some media organizations in Korea and overseas reported that preparation to launch a missile has been halted because telemetry, which is transmitted to communicate trajectory and other data on the Musudan missile to earth stations, and radio wave signals for telecommunication control from earth stations have not been received since April 20,”the spokesman said. “Just because remote radio information is not received, we cannot tell preparation to launch a missile has been halted, and there is no change to our stance to monitor the situation.”
