The chairmen of SK Corp. and Hanwha Group have retained Bae, Kim & Lee LLC, one of Korea`s biggest law firms, to appeal their convictions for embezzlement and dereliction of duty, respectively. The two men had earlier been represented by Kim & Chang, the nation’s largest law firm.

According to legal sources Friday, SK Chairman Chey Tae-won has appointed four attorneys from Bae, Kim & Lee, including former senior judges.

Hanwha chief Kim Seung-youn, who was represented by his personal attorney in his first trial, has formed a new 22-member defense team mostly from Bae. His attorneys include former senior prosecutors and judges.
