Man given 6 years in prison for abusing stepdaughter
DECEMBER 07, 2012 07:03
A man who was convicted of abusing his teenage stepdaughter was sentenced to six years in prison Thursday.

The Seoul Western District Court also sentenced the 36-year-old man, who was arrested and indicted for abusing his stepdaughter for years, to five years of public notice of his profile. The man had once reported his stepdaughter, now 19, as missing after she ran away from home to escape the abuse. After being found and returned home by police, she faced more torture at the hands of her stepfather.

According to the court, the man abused the victim for six years from 2006, when he and the victim’s mother, now 46, began living together. The girl was 13 at that time.

When the girl ran away from home in June this year, he posted “My daughter is missing” on a social networking site. After police found her and brought her back home, he cut her hair short on the pretext of parental discipline.
