The person who placed wooden stakes reading "Takeshima (the Japanese name for Korea`s Dokdo islets) is Japanese territory" next to a statue of a Korean sex slave in New Jersey is confirmed to be Suzuki Nobuyuki, the head of an extreme right-wing Japanese party. Suzuki had earlier placed a stake in front of the Japanese Embassy in Seoul in June this year.

On his blog Tuesday, he wrote that he demonstrated against Korea, which he said was falsely trying to degrade Japan`s creditworthiness. He posted the photo of the stake he placed Friday and another photo besides the Korean consulate general in New York Saturday.

Suzuki wrote on the top of his site, "I will run for a position in the next House of Councilors elections," apparently trying to make his name known ahead of the elections by stimulating nationalism.
