The HSBC Champions, the last match of the World Golf Championship with a prize of seven million U.S. dollars, opens today at Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai, China. Y.E. Yang, the first Asian-born player to win a major PGA championship, Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia, who won last year’s HSBC Champions title, pose for a picture Tuesday in front of a gigantic chessboard. World No. 2 Mickelson and Yang, who beat Woods to win the tournament three years ago, will play in the same group in the first and second rounds.
