The Offices of Education for Seoul, Daegu, Busan, Ulsan and Gwangju on Friday released the results of their nationwide diagnostic evaluation exams taken by seventh graders.

The score averages of a seventh grade student in Seoul were as follows: Korean language 86%, mathematics 85%, social studies 83%, science 76%, and English 87%. There were definitive gaps in test results between students in Gangnam and Gangbuk districts.

In comparison to other tested areas, Seoul held a higher score for English and Math. However, results displayed lower scores in the other subjects. Analysis of the diagnostic evaluation shows that Seoul students focus their studies towards English and Mathematics.
