Park Dong-sun, 72, who was indicted in the 1970s Koreagate scandal, was sentenced to 5 years in prison for his illegal lobbying activities on behalf of Iraq in the U.N.s oil-for-food program. U.S. District Judge Denny Chin said, You acted out of greed and acted to profit out of what was supposed to be a humanitarian program.
Jurors in Federal District Court in Manhattan reached a verdict of guilty last July on whether Park received at least $2 million to lobby for Iraq.
