“I was always defeated by my brother until today. I want everybody to write an article about me now,” said Kim Jeong-seob (31, South Korea, Samsung Life Insurance) after he defeated Yahita Abutabikb (Jordan), 2-0 in the 84kg men’s Greco-Roman wrestling event. It was the third time he challenged for gold medal, and he finally won it.

He won bronze in the Bangkok Asian Games in 1998, and silver in the 2002 Busan Asian Games. On the other hand, his brother, Kim In-seob (33, Coach of Samsung Life), won gold medals in both Bangkok and Busan, as well as the silver in the Sydney Olympics in 2000. The spotlight has always been on his brother, and Kim Jeong-seob couldn’t help being an extra.

But now Kim has become a hero. His story has become a cheerful sitcom instead of a drama. When he won the gold medal, he was running around the gym and danced to the rhythm of a Korean song. The audience burst out into peals of happy laughter.

Kim who got married in 2005 October, felt sorry for his wife who is due to deliver a child next February, for not having taken care enough. But he also appreciated her support.

“She put great care in picking out my underwear today. I think the victory is thanks to that.”

The ex-hero, his brother, became a supporting character and watched the victory of Kim as a director outside the mat.

“Now Kim won a gold medal in Asian Game, so I want him to win another in Beijing in 2008,” said his brother Kim In-seob.
