Prosecutors investigating the stem cell cloning scandal involving Hwang Woo-suk and his Seoul National University research team issued a summons to professor Gerald Schatten of the University of Pittsburgh, who had worked with Hwang.

A special investigation team led by Hong Mahn-pyo from the Seoul Central Prosecutor`s Office officially asked Schatten to answer the summons sent via e-mail in Hong’s name on February 3.

Prosecutors are scrutinizing two computers and a box of documents that were seized from the homes of eight associates, including Hwang’s relatives and offices, on February 2.
