Korean traditional dance and drum performance will be staged in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe slated to open in August in the U.K. The festival is the world’s largest performance art festival and art market.

"PAN" will be performed in the Assembly Hall, which is regarded as the best theater of the festival, from Aug. 6 to Aug. 31. The performance was made in 2010 to let the people around the world know about the beauty of Korea. This Korean traditional performance will be also staged in the 70th Anniversary of Korean Independence Festival on Aug. 15 in the Hague, the Netherlands.

Based on the humanitarianism concept to benefit all mankind, PAN dynamically presents traditional Korean dance and drum performance. Led by Art Director Seo Geun-jae, 14 artists play 13 traditional drums and nine janggus, small double-handed Korean drums.

The festival opens a "Korean Season" to invite Korean performance teams to the stage for three years from 2015 to 2017. In the Korean Season for this year, "PAN," drama troupe "Haddangse," and performance team "The Patron," modern dancing team "EDx2," and Jeju traditional art performance team "Maro" will be on the stage in the Assembly.
