Park In-bee sets to enter into the Hall of Fame

Park In-bee (27) is set to join the LPGA Tour’s Hall of Fame. Park played 3-under 69 in the fourth round to post 12-under 276 overall and rank sixth at the CME Group Tour Championship, the final of this season’s LPGA tour, at Tiburon Golf Club (par 72) in Naples, Florida, the U.S. on Monday. She has thus become the player to play the fewest average par (69.415 pars) to rank first in this category this season.

For a golfer to join the LPGA Tour’s Hall of Fame, Park must fill 27 points, and play on the tour for at least 10 years. Two score points are added to a player for winning the title of a major championship, one point for a general tour tournament, and one point each for receiving the player of the year award and posting the fewest average par set by a player. Park has filled 27 points by adding one point for the fewest average par, and will have played on the tour for 10 years if she continues through the 2016 season. “I feel relieved and thrilled because I am concluding this year after achieving my goal that I set when I moved to the LPGA tour," Park In-bee said. As of now, Park Se-ri (38) is the only Hall of Famer among the Korean golfers.

Lydia Ko (18) ranked seventh overall by playing 11-under 277 overall and became the player of the year, and ranked atop in overall purse money (2,800,802 U.S. dollars). Jang Ha-na (23) tied for second by posting 16-under 272 overall, lagging one par behind the champion Cristie Kerr of the U.S.
