Korea picked off gold for the second day Monday in shooting at Incheon Asian Games.

Korea`s female shooting team, comprised of Kim Jang-mi, Lee Jung-eun and Kwak Jung-hye, won gold medal at the 25-meter pistol event held Monday at Ongnyeon International Shooting range in Incheon. Scoring 1,748, it edged out China`s team (1,747) by one point. Korea thus collected its third gold medal in shooting after 17-year old Kim Chung-yong grabbed two golds Sunday at the 10-meter air pistol event.

Korea`s badminton, led by popular star player Lee Yong-dae, saw its men`s team advance to the finals for the fourth consecutive time in Asian Games by beating the Taiwan team 3 to 0 in quarterfinals. The men`s team will play Tuesday with the Chinese team, the world`s strongest that is hoping to win its third straight Asian Game gold. If the Korean team wins, it will be grabbing gold medal for the first time in 12 years since the 2002 Busan Asian Games. Meanwhile, Korea`s Sepak Takraw men`s double team won silver medal for the second straight time in Asian Games.

As of 4:40 p.m. Monday, Korea had 13 gold medals, 11 silvers and 10 bronzes, sliding to the second place after China that had 17 golds, 11 silvers and 12 bronzes.

Korea`s swimming star Park Tae-hwan will compete in men`s 400 meter freestyle swimming Tuesday hoping to grab his third straight win in Asian Games. He competed in the 200 meter freestyle Sunday for his three consecutive Asian Games gold medal but got a bronze medal as he lagged behind Japan`s Kosuke Hagino and China`s Sun Yang. Park looks to regain his lost pride at the upcoming likely triangular match with Hagino and Sun.
