Hampered earlier by an injury, Kim Yu-na (18, Suri High School) is likely to participate in next month’s World Figure Skating Championships.

Kim is currently in Korea to receive treatment for her injured hip. But thanks to a fast recovery, her hope to win the championships has been renewed.

Kim’s management company, IB Sports, announced, “The results of her re-examination shows that 90 percent of her injury is now healed due to a fast recovery.”

Dr. Cho Seong-yeon at Sports Medical Clinic SKY said, “Kim’s injuries in her hip joint cord and gluteus muscle are almost cured. She should now be able to train at 70 percent of her normal training level.”

In consultation with coach Brian Orser, Kim will set a new training schedule in preparation for the World Championships (Mar. 17 to 23) in Sweden. Her recovery will be closely monitored until the end of this month.
