Choi Could Start Season in Minors

Choi Hee-seop (27), who was traded to the Boston Red Sox from the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier this year, may start the season in the minors, the Boston Globe reported yesterday.

Choi will likely be sent down unless either first baseman J.T. Snow or corner infielder Kevin Youkilis is traded or injured.

This could make for another tough season for Choi Hee-seop, who is playing for his fourth team in five years.

Before coming to Boston, Choi played for the Chicago Cubs (2002), Florida Marlins (2004), and Los Angeles Dodgers (2005). After committing to a first base platoon of Nomar Garciaparra and Olmedo Saenz, the Dodgers traded Choi to Boston on March 25.
