Lydia Ko, a Korea-born teenage golfer from New Zealand who has became a force in LPGA, was named as one of Time magazine`s 25 Most Influential Teens of 2014. The 17-year-old is third in the world rankings.

Ko was also on the Time`s list of the 100 most influential people in the world, which was announced in April, and was the only South Korean to be named. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was also named, but President Park Geun-hye wasn`t on the list.

"Lydia Ko is exceptionally talented, mature beyond her years and well liked by golf fans and competitors alike," said Golf legend Annika Sorenstam who recommended Ko to Time. "She is responsible for sparking increased interest in our sport not just in her native South Korea and adopted homeland of New Zealand but also among juniors across the globe."

Among the top 25 list were also U.S. President Barack Obama`s two daughters, Malia and Sasha, and this year`s Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai from Pakistan.
