After visiting Austin in Texas to discuss illegal immigration issues, U.S. President Barack Obama paid "expensive" price for cutting in line at Franklin Barbecue, a noted barbecue restaurant.

President Obama dropped by the barbecue spot in downtown after he finished a speech in Austin on Thursday. Local media reported that the president made a surprise stop at the restaurant on the way to the airport to board Air Force 1.

Unfortunately, the restaurant, which is a quite popular dining spot that attracts a long queue waiting for several hours in lunch time, was packed as always with a lunch crowd. Due to limited time before boarding, President Obama said, “I know this is a long line. I feel real bad, but – I’m gonna cut.” He quickly apologized to those he’d cut in front of by “buying their lunch.”

The two lucky lunchers who the president cut ahead of were Bruce Finstad and his daughter Faith Finstad. When asked about the orders, they didn’t hesitate and went on to say “3 pounds of beef brisket, 2 pounds of ribs, a half-pound of sausage and a half-pound of turkey.” Surprised by the amount, the president asked back “Hold on now. How many folks are you guys feeding?” The order was actually for the two in line and two other family members already seated in other table.

President Obama had to pay for 300 dollars including the order takeout for his official travel party and lunch for the Finstad family. He tried to pay with wads of 20 dollars but he finally took out his own credit card after seeing the order topped 300 dollars.

President Obama turned to one of his aides to joke that “this would work” while holding the card. There was a happening at that moment - his credit card numbers were made public as the face of the credit card was taken in pictures.
