A Korean student living in Hungary was attacked by skinheads in what appears to be a racially motivated incident.

Gil, a 26-year-old Korean student in Budapest, was attacked by 10 Hungarians in a streetcar traveling in the Pest district on the night of March 10, according to reports yesterday.

“At around 9:40 p.m. while returning home from a concert, I was attacked in a streetcar by 10 skinheads in their early twenties, and I spent four days in the hospital afterwards,” he said.

According to Gil, short-haired men wearing black leather jackets surrounded him and began to kick and punch him. When the passengers began to scream, the skinheads said, “He’s not Hungarian,” and continued their assault.
