The U.S. government will appoint a former analyst at CIA, Joseph Ditrani, as a successor to Jack Pritchard, special Envoy for Korean Peace Talks, reported the Kyodo News on Tuesday.

Ditrani is an Asia expert who worked for CIA as an Asia analyst. He has been working for the U.S. Defense Department since the inauguration of the Bush administration. Ditrani is accompanying U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, James Kelly, who is now in China after visiting Japan to coordinate a second round of six-party talks. Kelly will visit Korea on Wednesday.
