Korean soldiers to be deployed to Haiti attend a ceremony Wednesday for the inauguration of a reconstruction assistance unit for the earthquake-ravaged nation and to bid farewell at the drill ground of special mission forces in Incheon. Comprised of 240 soldiers including a military engineering battalion, the unit will leave for Haiti via a chartered flight Feb. 27. The first contingent of 30 soldiers who left Korea last week have begun leveling a field to build barracks for Korean troops in the Leogane region, 40 kilometers west of the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince.
