In commemoration of 70th anniversary of Korea’s independence and International Memorial Day for the "Comfort Women," the peace concert “Navi (butterfly)” where victims of Japan’s military sexual slavery gather together will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Multi-purpose Hall of Seoul City hall. The Memorial Day has been established to pay respect to the late Kim Hak-soon, a Korean victim who made a public testimony against Japan’s misdoing at the "11th Asian Solidarity Conference on Military Sexual Slavery by Japan” in Taiwan in 2012.

During the concert, activities of comfort women victims and their peace messages will be introduced along with sand art display that shows victims’ life story and performance of “Baek Chang-woo and hoop-rolling children.” A living victim of Gil Won-ok who has taken the lead in resolving comfort women issues and activist Kim Hye-won will be awarded by the mayor of Seoul. Gil has set up a “Navi foundation” to support victims of Japan’s sexual slavery, while Kim has dedicated to provide education on comfort women issues and build a history museum.
