Beginning January 1 next year, parents, who come home earlier from work, visit an entertainment park with their children can get a 50-percent discount for a daily unlimited access pass to the park on every Wednesday.

At the Seoul Regional Employment and Labor office on Friday, the Employment and Labor Ministry, the Lotteria fast food chain, CJ Foodville, Youngpoong Bookstore, Lotte World and Lotte Cinema signed a partnership agreement to promote a double-benefit family campaign. The campaign aims at helping people to achieve work-life balance. Currently, more than 120 companies are taking part in the campaign, and only employees with participating companies can benefit from the program for the time being, but the program will expand to benefit all employed people going forward.

According to the agreement, if workers of a company participating in the campaign visit Lotte World amusement parks accompanied by their children after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the parents will get a 50 percent discount for a daily unlimited access pass. The parents only need to submit their employee ID, and the park operator does not check whether the visitors belong to the same family.

Also, if five staff members of companies that take part in the campaign watch a move at a Lotte Cinema theater together, they can get 1,000-won discount each for their ticket and popcorn. However, the discount for movies is available only when at least one visitor is affiliated with one of the five companies that signed the agreement.

Youngpoong Bookstore provides a 10-percent discount if any salaried workers buy a book after work at one of its 25 stores nationwide, irrespective of whether their employers participate in the campaign or not.
