National Assembly Speaker Chung Eui-hwa, a former neurosurgeon, was known Monday to have taken care of an emergency patient while in an airplane. He was on his way to embark a visit to two Central American countries of Mexico and Uruguay.

According to Korean Air and the National Assembly speaker`s office, Chung gave first aid to a two-year-old baby in an airplane heading from Los Angeles to Sao Paulo, Brazil on Friday afternoon. The baby had severely bumped eyes on the seat handle, and Chung administered first aid to the baby. To help calm the baby, Chung is also known to provide the baby`s parents with an artificial tear kit that he had.
