Labor Minister Out

Minister of Labor Kim Dae-hwan (left), who was under pressure to resign after his severe measures in response to illegal union demonstrations, was officially replaced on January 2. Kim sought out the head of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, Lee Su-ho (right), who shaved his head and is on a hunger strike in protest of the government’s mobilization of personnel in the Asiana Airlines strike last July.
