The Musée d`Orsay in Paris has started commentary services in Korean language sponsored by Korean Air on Monday.

An event to celebrate the start of Korean service was held at the museum’s fifth floor on 1:30 p.m., attended by Hanjin Group (which owns Korean Air) Chairman Cho Yang-ho, the Musée d`Orsay`s director Guy Cogeval and major corporate figures.

In October last year, Korean Air signed sponsorship contract with the Musée d`Orsay to add Korean to its nine language service in its multimedia guide. Founded in December 1986, the museum exhibits Impressionism art works, and is one of the top three museums along with the Louvre Museum and the Centre Pompidou. People can now enjoy Korean explanations for François Millet’s “Les Glaneurs et la Glaneuse,” Vincent van Gogh’s “Autoportrait” and Paul Cézanne’s “Baigneurs.”

It is the fourth time Korean Air sponsored for Korean guide service after having sponsoring for the Louvre in 2008 and Russia’s State Hermitage Museum and British Museum in 2009. At the ceremonial event, Cho said, “I am very pleased that Korean Air has come to provide Korean language service at the 40th anniversary of its opening a passenger route in Paris.”
