Among consumers who have used Samsung Pay, the NFC-based tap-and-pay system, 9 out of 10 use the mobile payment system more than two times. According to Samsung Card’s survey on the utilization of Samsung Pay, the ratio of consumers who have used Samsung Pay more than two times reached 86.4%.

To use Samsung Pay, Samsung Electronic’s mobile payment system, users need to register credit card information in their smart phones. After that, users can just tap the smart phone on payment terminals to pay. Before Samsung Pay’s official launch, Samsung Card had a trial period with 3,500 Samsung credit card users over a month from Jul. 15 to Aug. 19 and surveyed how they used the mobile payment system.

According to Samsung Card, the ratio of consumers who have used Samsung Pay more than two times was 86.4%, and those who have used only one time was 13.6%. “Samsung Pay users praised that Samsung Pay can be used at most off-line stores and it is convenient to pay by just scanning fingerprints,” said Samsung Card official. A Samsung credit card user surnamed Kim, 40, said, “It was convenient to use Samsung Pay even at traditional markets during my summer vacation in Gangwon Province.
