Record holder for the most goals scored at the World Cup, Miroslav Klose (36), a striker in the Lazio team in the Italian Serie A, has announced his retirement from the German national team on Monday. Klose contributed to Germany’s fourth overall first place at the Brazil World Cup in 2014, and scored two more goals in Brazil, surpassing Brazilian Ronaldo’s (37, retired) record. The German striker netted 71 goals in a total of 137 international level matches, also passing the legendary Gerd Müller`s (69) record goal tally of 68.
