A latest survey suggests that TV viewers find Channel A, a subsidiary of the Dong-A Ilbo, the "most satisfactory" among Korea`s general programming cable TV channels for the second consecutive year in 2013. Channel A has been named the most satisfactory general programming cable TV channel for eight consecutive quarters since the first three months in 2012, when the first quarterly viewer survey was conducted. If ground wave TV broadcasters are included, Channel A ranked fourth after KBS-1, KBS-2 and SBS.

The state-funded Korea Information Society Development Institute on Wednesday announced the result of its viewer satisfaction index survey for 2013. The institution produces the index based on viewers` direct eval‍uation of TV channels.

Channel A received 7.15 out of 10, the highest among the nation`s four general programming cable TV channels. The score was higher than that of MBC (7.07), one of the three major ground wave TV channels. Trailing Channel A were MBN with 6.93 and JTBC (6.91). TV Chosun received 6.89, the lowest among all channels including ground wave and general programming cable TV channels.

Channel A also led the others in the most sections in the eval‍uation of broadcast quality. Channel A ranked first in four of seven sections in the channel eval‍uation – in diversity, trustworthiness, helpfulness and public interest. JTBS ranked first in two section, and MBN in one.

Among ground wave broadcasters, KBS-1 was named the most satisfactory channel. The survey was conducted once in each quarter of 2013 on 57,600 people at ages from 13 to 60 across the country.
