Yang Hak-sun, 21, and Sohn Yeon-jae will conduct performance at the same competition.

The Korea Gymnastic Association said on Tuesday that both Yang and Sohn will participate in the Second Korea Cup International Gymnastic Championships, which will take place at Incheon Namdong Stadium for a week from April 23, 2014. The championships are an event that invites winners of the top to third prizes at international championships and the top ranking athletes of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). The event only involved apparatus gymnastics during the first event in 2011. At the first event, Yang displayed “Yang Hak-sun” skill (technique of triple rolling following frontal jump over the horse vault). At that time, Sohn only staged a gala show because the event did not include rhythmic gymnastics competitions.

The second event, which will also involve rhythmic gymnastics competitions, feature the world’s top apparatus gymnasts and rhythmic gymnasts en masse, including not only Yang Hak-sun and Sohn Yeon-jae, but also Kohei Uchimura of Japan, the gold medalist overall of the individual competition at the London Olympics last year, and Yana Kudryavtseva of Russia, the winner overall of the individual competition at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships. At the second event, Yang Hak-Sun will unveil “Yang Hak-sun 2” skill (technique of three and half spins following sided jumping over the horse vault), which he did not display at the World Championships last October.
