Prosecutors demanded stay of execution for entertainers Lee Soo-geun, Tak Jae-hoon and Tony Ahn, who were indicted on the charge of illicit gambling through privately-run Sports Toto (habitual gambling charge under the Criminal Code). At a court hearing chaired by presiding judge Shin Myeong-hee at the Seoul Central District Court on Friday, prosecutors demanded two-year stay of execution each for singer Tony Ahn (real name Ahn Seung-ho), comedian Lee Soo-geun, and singer Tak Jae-hoon (real name Bae Seong-woo), each of whom was sentenced to 10 months, eight months and six months in prison, respectively.

Ahn is suspected of making bets amounting to hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars per bet through mobile phone text messages to engage in gambling worth a combined 400 million won (378,000 dollars), Lee 370 million won (350,000 dollars), and Tak 290 million won (274,000 dollars). They admitted to all charges against them, and asked the court for lenience, saying that they are reflecting upon their wrongdoings. Ruling will be made at 10 a.m. on December 27.
