Korea's first Internet Coverage Headquarters Self-production and management of news contents covering all fields The donga.com Internet Coverage Headquarters, which began with news gathering teams centered around the economic team in April 2000, now consists of the economic, culture, and news teams. Our e-reporters gather news and information from around the world and deliver it to readers in real time. Most of our articles are translated from The Dong-a Ilbo but the Web site's content also includes self-produced material.

New Messenger in the Global Era

Offering news and information in English, Chinese, and Japanese

For the first time in the history of domestic Internet newspapers, donga.com began providing readers with news and information in three foreign languages -- English, Japanese, and Chinese -- simultaneously on July 11, 2000. Now, one-third of the world's total population can receive the most accurate news and information about Korea through donga.com. Donga.com is composed of contents designed to appeal to the individualized tastes of its readers. All translated articles are edited under the strict supervision of foreign professional appraisal teams.

Through the Feb. 15 reform work, foreign language content is more accurate and diverse. Donga.com paved the way for the people of the world to learn about Korea by providing readers with in-depth news and information on politics and economic matters as well as lifestyle and entertainment. It also allowed for foreigners to share their viewpoints through a contribution column.

Internet Journal Stands as One-Stop Information Service

Unlike many existing Internet newspapers whose content is not specially designed for their target readers, donga.com caters its news and other content to the specialized interests of its readership.

The Website is divided into eight sections: News, Money & Biz, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO), Life, Leisure, Sports, Information & Technology (IT) and Kids, which are also divided into a total of 30 sub sections.

Now, readers of donga.com can access the news and information they need quickly and conveniently.

Wide Variety of Other Services Available to Readers

donga.com's unprecedented audio news service, which was launched in September last year, is cutting-edge media and reflects the site's strenuous efforts to satisfy its readers' diverse interests.

Readers also are able to make use of such wide-ranging services as a free database of 36,000 well known people, the content of magazines issued by The Dong-a Ilbo, a portable document format (PDF) service, a library of fixed serial publications and a service for searching articles according to subject or specific issues.
