Hyundai Motor has unveiled its new Grandeur model, the most highly anticipated car for end-year holiday season.

The Grandeur IG has been disclosed to reporters on Tuesday at the K Hotel in southern Seoul through a media briefing event. With various smart functions and simpler and leaner design than its predecessor Grandeur HG, the latest Grandeur is expected to lead future company sales.

On the front, the Grandeur IG applied cascading grill, which the auto company first applied to the Hot Hatch i30 model last month. Cascading grill comes from the curved lines of Korean ceramics, and will be applied on all Hyundai cars in the future. The back side of the car maintained the design of the taillight connected horizontally in the previous model while becoming simpler. The middle of where the taillights are connected has also lights.

Hyundai also applied for the first time on its Grandeur IG "Hyundai Smart Sense," composed of six safety auxiliary tools including the Autonomous Emergency Braking System, ABSD and Driver Attention Alert. Ramda II 3.0 GDI, R 2.2e-VGT, Ceta Ⅱ 2.4 GDI will be applied as engines.

On the fact that Ceta II 2.4 GDI will be applied whose defect problems were raised in the U.S. recently, Hyundai Motor said, "This engine produced in Korea has no problems. We apologize for the issue of defects having been raised." The Grandeur IG will be put on sale after mid-November and price has yet to be decided.
