The SK Group said on Thursday that its owner chairman Chey Tae-won donated all of his actually deposited salary, 18.3 million dollars, on Wednesday. Chey has already donated his 2012 performance incentive and all of his annual salary for 2013 minus taxes in the form of his holdings of SK C&C shares.
9.7 million dollars goes to the social enterprise establishment support fund for creating jobs for youths at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) Social Entrepreneurship Center; 1.9 million dollars to Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) research center for social enterprises for academic research funding for social enterprises; 4.6 million dollars to SK Happiness Foundation for social enterprise founding funds; and 1.9 million dollars for correction of prison inmates and rehabilitation of former inmates.
