The Korean people, who confirmed unity for the first time in a while through the World Cup soccer finals in Brazil, are eagerly waiting for an event scheduled on early Monday morning. The Korean national team led by Coach Hong Myung-bo will hold its second Group H match against Algeria at the Beira-Rio arena in Porto Alegre at 4 a.m. on Monday (Korea Standard Time).

Korea, which is tying with Russia (both one point each) for the second place in the group’s rankings after Belgium (with three points), will be able to pave the way for advance to the quarterfinals for the first time ever in an overseas World Cup event, only if it beats Algeria, ranking fourth (one loss). Team Korea revealed sloppiness in performance up until right before the World Cup’s opening, but is now striving to prepare for the match against Algeria by banking on self-confidence that it recovered through its opener against Russia. Korea has had four wins and four draws overall in second group matches at the past World Cup events, and thus has had no win.

Amid bright facial looks of Taegeuk Worriers who have renewed commitment to open a new chapter in its World Cup history, voices of cheering are set to spread even louder from the other corner of the globe.
