Samsung Electronics and Barnes & Noble, the world’s largest distributor of publications based in the U.S., will produce a co-branded Galaxy Tab.

According to foreign media outlets including The Associated Press on Friday, the two companies have agreed to produce the “Galaxy Tab 4 Nook,” which combines "Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 4" and Barnes & Noble’s e-book software "Nook" with an access to 3 million publications.

A source at Samsung said, “One of the recent trends in the tablet market is to secure contents that consumers can watch "only with our products,” adding, “The Galaxy Tab 4 Nook means that Samsung’s tablet will be installed with distinguished publication contents.” In the wake of production of the co-branded Galaxy Tab, Barnes & Noble reportedly will not develop tablets on its own.

The Galaxy Tab 4 Nook will hit more than 700 Barnes & Noble stores across the U.S. in early August. The price of the new device has yet to be decided.
