Narrow door of real politics

Ahn Cheol-soo, a co-leader of the main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy, is seen through a door being briefed on the result of the party members` votes and the public opinion survey on whether to abolish a party nomination system for candidate to run for the upcoming local elections in early June. Although the party`s retreat, based on the result of the votes and survey, from its earlier vows to keep the no-nomination promise is expected to improve the party`s chances in the June 4 elections, many observers say that Ahn`s trademark "new politics" campaign has suffered a significant setback.
