The leading Saenuri Party postponed the TV debate among its three Seoul mayor candidates including Rep. Chung Mong-joon, former Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik and supreme council member Lee Hye-hoon. This was decided Sunday at a working-level meeting joined by people in charge of terrestrial and cable TV operators. The party initially scheduled the discussion to go live on TV Monday, but disputes arose regarding which broadcasting operator will be the host.

The Saenuri Party will enter a full-out candidacy race Monday when it reduces the candidates for Gyeonggi Province to two people. Excluding Rep. Nam Kyung-pil who is winning in opinion polls, one will be selected among lawmakers Won Yoo-chul and Choung Byoung-gug and former lawmaker Kim Young-sun after a detailed opinion survey.

Candidate decision will be made starting in Jeju Island on Friday. Jeju candidate will be determined 100 percent based on opinion poll among former Rep. Won Hee-ryong, Jeju`s former vice governor of state affairs Kim Kyung-taek and former Jeju City mayor Kim Bang-hoon. Thereafter, the date of candidate decision for other cities and provinces is as follows: Sejong and Ulsan on April 12, North Gyeongsang Province on the 13th, South Gyeongsang Province on the 14th, Daejeon on the 18th, Daegu, South Chungcheong Province and Gangwon Province on the 20th, Busan on the 22nd, Incheon on the 23rd, Gyeonggi Province on the 24th and Seoul on the 25th.
